My work lies at the intersection of business ethics, human rights, and sustainability, with a particular focus on the pressing challenges posed by climate change and biodiversity loss to business and finance. I am deeply committed to collaborating with both profit and non-profit organizations, helping them navigate complex integrity management and sustainability challenges. My approach is distinctly interdisciplinary, bringing together insights from ethics, law, economics, and psychology using theoretical as well as empirical methods.
I am professor at the universities of Groningen and Gothenburg, and I serve as an editor at the Journal of Business Ethics. I have held visiting positions at institutions such as Harvard Business School and the University of Cambridge. At the Rudolf Agricola School for Sustainable Development, I convene a Business and Human Rights centre.
